Arriving in formal attire, we graced the building in apparel such as maxi dresses, newly purchased jewellery and heals.
The nuns welcomed us into their restaurant dressed in dazzling, brightly coloured cultural clothing beaming with warm smiles. The meal entailed a fresh salad, chicken and chips with a tropical fruit salad for dessert. The abundance of cutlery and courses was difficult for some of us to get our heads around, but we managed to consume the food in a timely fashion.
À neuf heures, the nuns emerged and dispersed themselves, as mentioned on our Tchou Tchou Train tour earlier this week. After a brief introduction in French to the history of the hymn, Ave Maria, the majestic harmonisation of the nuns voices commenced in conjunction with a guitarist, filling the room with a loving and peaceful atmosphere.
The night was beautiful and something we will never forget. AN amazing cultural experience.
