Tchou tchou train ( now known as the Wiki Wiki train). The tchou tchou train was an amazing experience where we learnt so much about Nouméa’s culture and history. We visited some unique places and saw some stunning monuments. First, we drove up a beautiful mountain were we viewed some picture perfect islands and crystal clear blue water. C’est magnifique!
Our second stop was at an old cultural centre that was abandoned after a cyclone. It is now covered in spectacular graffiti, which was a great background for photos. We viewed the area where the old prison was. There is now a cross and an abundance of flowers where the la guillotine once stood. The last execution was in the 1930’s. Intéressant!
Everywhere we went, from high and low, there were always amazing views overlooking the whole city. Along the way, we counted a total of 202 people who waved to us. The citizens of Nouméa are extremely friendly and always enlightened the atmosphere. Nous adorons Nouméa!
