Le marché de Port Moselle et La Baie des Citrons – Milly et Lily
Bonjour tout le monde!
Today we visited the markets! The markets were located on a waterfront near the docs, c’était beau! These markets were extensive, containing a number of stalls. Some of these stalls included local produce such as coconuts and watermelon (which we enjoyed very much !), jewellery, traditional Melanesian clothing and vibrant souvenirs.
We bought a collection of local jams (which we hope won’t be taken away at customs), bracelets, anklets and sarongs – oh là là! Many girls purchased souvenirs for their families to bring home a taste of Noumea. We topped off the day by visiting the local supermarché where there is a wide variety of food from both Noumea and France. The girls are all looking forward to showing you their purchases tomorrow!
